James is the CEO of the GTC Legal Group, and brings to the role 25 years’ legal experience. Starting his career as a commercial litigation lawyer at Sparke Helmore, James moved on to Clayton Utz and then spent 5 years as a commercial and criminal barrister. In 2009, James started the website www.gotocourt.com.au and founded the law firm Go To Court Lawyers. The GTC Legal Group was formed in 2018, and acquired its main competitor Armstrong Legal in 2019.
In 2023, The GTC Legal Group entered into a partnership with leading UK law firm Taylor Rose MW to form Taylor Rose Australia , finally bringing the revenue-sharing model, so popular in the UK, to Australia.
The GTC Legal Group now has over 150 staff and 70 consultants, with another 1850 law firms across Australia having joined the Group as Network Partners. The GTC Legal Advice Hotline currently receives about 80,000 enquiries a year from Australians looking for legal assistance.
James is also a director and co-founder of Nebula Tech Pty Ltd, a software company fast becoming known for the creation of one of the only legal practice management systems in the world to be based on Salesforce – NebuLAW.
